FOOD AND BEVERAGE

Plan time-sensitive distribution with more control.

In food and beverage distribution, frequent deliveries, different customer receiving hours and high stop counts can make planning difficult. Build routes that fit your operation by evaluating vehicles, drivers and delivery conditions together.

CHALLENGES

The challenges of time-sensitive food and beverage distribution

  1. 01

    Narrow delivery windows

Restaurants and hotels expect deliveries before service starts. A delivery that misses its window is often refused.

  2. 02

    Frequent, small deliveries

The same customer receives small quantities several times a week. Stop counts are high and the load per stop is low.

  3. 03

    Two delivery slots a day

Some customers accept deliveries in two separate slots, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

  4. 04

The right vehicle for the product

Some loads, such as chilled goods, travel only on vehicles with specific equipment. Product and vehicle must be matched at the planning stage.

HOW TRACKINIA HELPS

How Trackinia plans food and beverage distribution

  • Strict and flexible delivery windows

Each delivery can have several time windows. A window can be strict or allow lateness at a cost.

  • Dense stop sequencing

Many small deliveries are sequenced around capacity, service time and delivery windows.

  • Vehicle feature matching

Define the vehicle feature an order needs, and the calculation assigns it only to vehicles that have it.

  • Priority customers

Prioritise important deliveries. When not everything fits, see which orders could not be planned and why.

EXAMPLE SCENARIO

Morning deliveries to restaurants and cafés

A food and beverage supplier delivers to restaurants and cafés in the city centre every morning. Most customers receive goods between 07:00 and 10:00, some also in a second afternoon slot. Chilled products travel only on refrigerated vehicles.

Illustrative example: this scenario shows how the product can be used. It is not a customer case or a measured result.

  1. 1

Orders are imported with each customer’s one or two delivery windows.

  2. 2

Orders with chilled products get the “refrigerated vehicle” feature as a requirement.

  3. 3

The calculation builds routes that fit delivery windows, service times and vehicle capacity. Work that does not fit a window is listed with a reason.

  4. 4

Drivers report each delivery as completed or failed in the driver app.

Frequently asked questions

Can one customer have more than one delivery window?

Yes. A delivery job can have several time windows, and the calculation places the arrival in one of them.

Can we allow a short delay past the delivery window?

Yes. Define the window as flexible and set an hourly cost for lateness. The calculation weighs that cost against the others.

Do you monitor the cold chain or temperatures?

No. Trackinia does not collect temperature sensor data or monitor cold-chain compliance. You can assign orders that need a refrigerated vehicle only to such vehicles by setting a required vehicle feature.
